This image sums up a lot of what I'm thinking about lately- a lot of what this series of work is about. Essentially, the barcodes I'm using represent any and all control devices that are strangling the life out of our personal and global liberties.

On a personal level this really struck me as it seems that as a nation we have really lost sight of what the American Dream really is - rather than being about the ability to find and fulfill ones dreams it's about getting a degree working an acceptable full-time job to buy the things you 'need'. Part of this talks to me on the level of wondering how many people are missing out on the personal freedom to do what they really want to do because they feel like they have to live up the the 'American Standard'? Thanks for something so thought provoking.
